Box Score

BOISE, Idaho – The Portland State women's tennis team put up a series of dominant performances on Sunday morning on its way to a 7-0 sweep of The College of Idaho.

The win moved the Vikings to 5-7 overall while the Yotes dropped to 2-9 on the year.

The doubles lineup looked a little bit different for Portland State on Sunday. Playing at the No. 1 spot for the third time this season were Emily Rees and Mariajose Hernandez Coronado, who cruised to a 6-1 victory over Lauren Kreutzer and Taylor Johnson. Jacinta Milenkoski and Makoto Ohara made quick work of their No. 2 opponents, while Nika Beukers and Maddie Egan did the same on court three, shutting out Summer Townsend and Morgan Leavitt.

Ohara and Hernandez Coronado cruised to victory at the four and five spots, winning 24 consecutive games to extend the Vikings' lead to 3-0. Egan, who defeated Leavitt, 6-1, 6-0, followed closely behind at No. 6.

Milenkoski clinched her first No. 1 singles win of the season 6-2, 6-3 over Kreutzer. Beukers and Rees completed the sweep for the Vikings at flights two and three, picking up a pair of two-set victories to end the day.

Next weekend, the Vikings are set to host both Montana State (March 11) and Montana (March 13) at the Tualatin Hills Babette Horenstein Tennis Center.
