A busy April continues for the Viking golf team next week when it tees up at the Fresno State Classic. It will be the third event since this past Monday, and the third of four in the space of 15 days.
 
Portland State will be in a field of 15 at Copper River Country Club in Fresno, including Sacramento State and Southern Utah of the Big Sky Conference. The tournament will consist of 54 holes over two days.
 
The Vikings are uncertain if they will have the services of freshman Franca Polla for the tournament. Polla, who has played well this spring, suffered a sprained ankle during the Montana State dual match on Wednesday, forcing her withdrawal. Polla has complied a 76.12 scoring average in her first season. She was the team scoring leader at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, tying for 25^th with 71-75-78=224.
 
PSU is certain to have seniors Jasmine Cabajar and Valerie Hernandez leading the way in Fresno. Cabajar won the 18-hole dual match with Montana State, shooting an even-par 72 at The Golf Club of Estrella. Portland State beat Montana State, even without Polla's score, 307 to 313.
 
Cabajar leads the team in scoring this season at 75.00. Hernandez is second with 75.77. Also competing in Fresno will be Katie Harris (79.77) and Mariana Garcia Rosette (82.44). If Polla is unable to play, McKenna Maser (88.00) will replace her in the lineup.
