Aurora, OR – There have been 10 Rose City Collegiate Golf Tournaments and Cal State Fullerton has now won three of them. The Titans captured the title at Langdon Farms Golf Club on Tuesday as host Portland State placed second among 12 teams. Fullerton also won in 2012 and 2014, while the Vikings were 2018 titleists.

It was a challenging two days of golf as players were teeing off with temperatures in the high 30s and low 40s each day. That had scores a bit higher than previous years. The Titans completed the tournament at 289-296-301=886 and won their third straight this season. The Vikings were six shots behind with 293-301-298=892.

Madalyn Ardueser of Eastern Washington won the individual title, hanging on as most of the leaders struggled. Ardueser finished at one-under par 70-69-76=215.

Portland State's
Valerie Hernandez finished second for the second year in a row at the Rose City Collegiate. Hernandez, a senior, shot a three-over par 70-73-76=219.

Jasmine Cabajar rallied late, shooting 33 on her final nine. The senior made four birdies in a five-hole stretch. She shot 73 for the day and 222 for the tournament to tie for sixth.

Freshman
Katie Harris produced her best tournament so far this season. She led the Vikings with 11 birdies in three rounds while posting 79-69-78=226. Harris tied for 13th.

Elise Filuk shot a final-round one-over par 73. Filuk, also a senior, moved up 16 spots on the leaderboard to place 21
st overall, recording 79-77-73=229.

McKenna Vanko tied for 38
th among the 70 golfers in the tournament. Vanko, a junior, shot 74-78-83=235.
