The Big Sky Conference released Academic All-Conference honorees for the fall season and Portland State had 46 student-athletes across five teams earn recognition.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions and achieved a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Here are some highlights for this year's fall sport Academic All-Conference teams:
• The men's cross country team had the most honorees in program history (6, previous best 5).
• The women's soccer team had the most honorees in program history (12, previous best 11).
• The football team had the most honorees in program history (15, previous best 13). Joe Lopez was also named first team CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII as well.
• Women's soccer has had 10 or more honorees in five of the past six seasons (2009-11, 2013-14).
• Ariana Cooley, Kayla Henningsen and Kelsey Henningsen are all four-time honorees. Cooley was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII first-team honoree this season, the second straight year she has been so honored.
• The volleyball program had the second-most honorees for a season in program history (8).
