Finley Crabtree Named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week after Shutout Victory over San Diego

Portland State goalkeeper Finley Crabtree was named Big Sky Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, following an impressive performance versus San Diego.

Crabtree, a senior, recorded a career-high nine saves and her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over the Toreros Sunday. The win marked the first time the Vikings have beaten a West Coast Conference team since 2019. Just a week prior, she had tied her career-best in saves with eight against Boise State. She currently ranks tied for third in the Big Sky Conference with 4.56 saves per game.

Crabtree has played all nine matches this season for the Vikings, more than double what she played last season (4). She currently has a goals-against average of 2.08 and save percentage of 0.695. She is the first Viking to earn the weekly honor since goalkeeper Eden Millan in 2024.

The Vikings enter conference play on Oct. 1, when they head to Utah Tech to take on the Trailblazers in their first out-of-state game since August.
