PORTLAND, Ore. — The second international addition to the Portland State volleyball program's 2026 roster came Friday, as opposite hitter
Katarina Kosic from Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the Vikings.
Â
Kosic, 6-1, will bring a wealth of international experience to her freshman year with the Vikings next fall. She played for club teams ZOK Gacko (2025-26), PTT Spor Kulübü (2022-25) and BL Volley (2020-22). She won the 2026 Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina with her club team, as well as the 2025 Cup of Republika Srpska.
Â
Kosic also won the 2025 national school championship in Turkey.
Â
"Katarina is a terminal force on the right side. She comes from a very competitive league and has proven to be able to score from the front and back row," Portland State head coach
Michael Seemann said of Kosic.
Â
"She is a long effective blocker who does a great job of lining up and timing against attackers. She is highly competitive and will likely have a strong impact on the program and conference. We will be able to increase the tempo on the right side with her being left-handed, giving us a more balanced attack in our offense."
Â
Kosic joins what figures to be a young but talented right-side group for the Vikings next season. Middle blockers
Brenna Coffman and
Willow Watson played on the right as freshmen last season, as did redshirt freshman
Amber Walker. Newcomers
Katelyn Davey and
Jordyn Romano also figure to fill in the spot alongside Kosic next season.
