Vikings Basketball Signs Keyon Kensie Jr. For 2025-26 Season

Portland State Basketball has signed another transfer for the 2025-26 academic year with the addition of Keyon Kensie Jr.

Kensie spent the past two seasons at the University of San Diego. He is a 6-7 perimeter player who will join Head Coach Jase Coburn's roster in the coming season as a junior.

"Keyon's athletic ability is through the roof and that says something considering some of the athletic guys we have had here," said Coburn. "We played against him last season (at San Diego) and he had a really good game against us, so we are very familiar with what he can do.

"Keyon is another player with great size and length and can play a lot of different positions. He has good ability with the ball. He can handle and shoot it and should have a big impact in the Big Sky."

Kensie averaged 3.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game as a freshman at San Diego in 2023-24. Last season, he was averaging 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds, including a 20-point, five-rebound game against the Vikings in November. Unfortunately, an injury ended his season after six games.

Originally from Los Angeles, Kensie attended Taft High School where he was a City Section and West Valley League Most Valuable Player as a senior. He led his team to the 2023 City Section Open Division Championship game and was named the Open Division Most Valuable Player.

Kensie joins a Viking program that was 19-13 this past season and placed third in the Big Sky Conference. PSU returns six players, including two starters.
