Avery Kageyama has been named the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Alice and John Walker Women's Golf Classic in Palm Desert, CA.
 
Kageyama, a graduate transfer to PSU this season, recorded her best single-round and tournament scores as a Viking in the prestigious tournament hosted by Long Beach State. She got better each day of the event shooting 81-78-74=233 to lead the Viking team. Kageyama had four birdies in the tournament and tied for 83rd among 120 competitors.
 
Kageyama is a native of Honolulu, HI where she attended the Punahou School. She previously attended George Fox University where she was a member of the 2023 NCAA III National Championship team.
 
The Vikings finished 21st in the tournament at Monterey Country Club won by fifth-ranked Oregon.
