PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland State softball has announced its full 2026 schedule, featuring 46 regular-season games, including 31 non-conference contests and five Big Sky Conference series.
The slate features opponents from 10 different conferences, including three major conferences. Head coach Meadow McWhorter and the Vikings open the season with 24 road games before the team makes its home debut at Ron Tonkin Field, the program's new venue for the 2026 season.
The early portion of the schedule spans five tournaments, beginning with the Easton Classic in Fullerton, Calif. (Feb. 6–8). The Vikings will open the year with a doubleheader against Boise State and Cal State Fullerton on Friday, Feb. 6. Saturday brings a matchup with CSUN, followed by a clash with Ole Miss, a squad that ended last season eighth in the nation. The weekend concludes with a rematch against the Titans on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Week two sends the Vikings to Tempe, Ariz., for five games at the Littlewood Invitational (Feb. 12–14), where they'll face Indiana, Arizona State, Nevada, and Pacific (CA).
Following a brief break in action, Portland State will head to Honolulu (Feb. 26–28) for three outings against Mercyhurst and two against Hawai'i. A week later, the Vikings will compete in the Blue Collar Classic hosted by Boise State (March 5–7), a five-game weekend featuring tilts against Cal Baptist, Boise State, and St. Thomas. The team will then make its second trip to California, playing back-to-back doubleheaders against LMU and Southern Utah on March 13–14.
The Vikings will finally open play at their new stadium in late March, hosting a doubleheader against North Dakota on March 20, followed by a three-game series against Santa Clara (March 22–23). The five-game homestand against the Fighting Hawks and Broncos will conclude non-conference play before Big Sky action begins on the road at Montana (March 28–29). Following a road series at Idaho State on April 3–4, PSU will return home to host Weber State on April 10–11.
Pausing league action, the Vikings will host their final non-conference doubleheader of the regular season against Oregon State on Tuesday, April 14. They will then conclude an eight-game homestand—and their home schedule for the season—by hosting Northern Colorado on April 17–18. A trip to Sacramento State on April 24–25 will conclude the regular season before heading to Pocatello, Idaho, from May 4–8 for the Big Sky Tournament.
