PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland State women's tennis head coach Josiah Petersen announced the additions of Seromy Sicha and Anjola Ige to the Vikings' 2025-26 roster.
"We feel more than excited to have Seromy and Anjola join the group here at Portland State," Petersen said. Sicha and Ige, both international players and both freshmen, will join the Vikings in January, just in time for the 2026 dual season.
Sicha arrives from Lima, Peru. She has competed at the highest junior and national levels in Peru, winning championships in the National First Category Tournament and the U18 National Grade 2 Tournament. Prior to that success, she was a Grade 1 U16 National finalist.Â
"Sero [Seromy] comes from an amazing family with an impressive tennis history and passion for the sport," Petersen said. "Her shared values in finding and contributing to a family environment made us feel that she belonged on the team well before she signed."
Ige, a native of Sydney, Australia, brings extensive junior and high school tennis experience. A Top-30 U14 hardcourt national finalist, Ige won the IGSA Junior Championships in 2022 and 2023, along with senior championships in both 2024 and 2025. Additionally, she helped Meriden Anglican School for Girls to four consecutive Tildesley Tennis Championships.
"With Anjola, it was similar how quickly we felt she would fit in," Petersen said. "What first stood out was her drive and ambition. After learning about her passion for the sport and the people around her, we knew she would be a wonderful addition to the culture we are building."
Sicha and Ige will join four returning Vikings and newcomer
Marta Giglio as Petersen and the Vikings open the 2026 dual season in January.
