St. George, UT – The Portland State Vikings completed the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in 10^th place on Saturday at Sunbrook Golf Course. The Vikings finished the event with scores of 323-296-314=933.
 
Boise State won the tournament with a team total of 301-299-294=894. The Broncos were 10 shots ahead of second-place Weber State (904). The Vikings were 10^th among 13 teams competing and second among four Big Sky Conference schools, beating Montana and Idaho State.
 
Tannica Porter placed in a tie for fifth – her best finish in a stroke-play event as a Viking. Porter posted 76-69-77=222 over three days. The junior has now had five top-15 finishes in seven stroke-play tournaments in her Viking career. Her second-round score was a personal best.
 
Mariana Garcia Rosette carded the best round of the day for the Vikings with a three-over par 75. The senior moved up eight spots on the leaderboard to a tie for 23^rd among 80 golfers competing. She finished with 79-75-75=229 in the 54-hole event.
 
Sophomore Payten Shimizu tied for 51^st overall at 81-75-82=238. Bayler Brundage, also a sophomore, tied for 62^nd with 84-73-85=242.
 
Freshman Cynthia Valerie Ong finished at 87-77-80=244. Momo Udom, also a freshman, came in with 93-79-86=258.
 
Portland State's second-round 296 was the best score for the first two rounds, and third-best score for the entire tournament.
 
Jadan Gonzalez of Wyoming and Leia Chung of Boise State tied for first place with even-par 216.
