PORTLAND, Ore. - Nearly two weeks after its 2024 season opener, the Portland State men's tennis team is set to return to action this weekend. The Vikings (0-1) will host Seattle on Friday, Feb. 2 (10 a.m.) followed by Pacific (OR) on Sunday, Feb. 4 (10 a.m.) at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
Friday's home opener against the Redhawks will be the 19th meeting between the two programs. Seattle has already played four matches this season, entering Friday with a 1-3 record. Following a season-opening win over UC Riverside, the Redhawks have lost three -straight. Sunday's match against Pacific (OR), will be the Boxers' first official match of the season. They'll take on Oregon's club team on Saturday before meeting the Vikings for the fourth consecutive season. The Boxers had a solid showing in 2023, finishing the year 11-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

VIKINGS' LAST TIME OUTÂ
The Vikings opened their 2024 campaign on Saturday, Jan. 20, falling 6-1 to Washington. Sophomore Luka Jovanovic was the highlight of the season opener, defeating Brett Pearson 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (1) at line five.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the home-opening weekend, Portland State will continue non-conference play against Portland (Feb. 10) and Oregon (Feb. 17). The Vikings will face both the Pilots and Ducks on the road, before beginning a three-match home stand.
