PORTLAND, Ore. — Spring is a great word in volleyball. Every coach wants a springy player, after all, and spring scrimmages offer a chance to get better. The Portland State volleyball team announced its spring schedule Friday, which includes home matches against in-state Pac-12 programs Oregon and Oregon State.
Â
The matches against the Ducks and the Beavers will be part of two three-team, round-robin dates the Vikings will host at Viking Pavilion this spring. The one against the Ducks and the Beavers will come on April 22. The Vikings will open the day against the Beavers at 10 a.m. before facing the Ducks at 2 p.m. In between those matches, Oregon and Oregon State will face each other at 12 p.m.
Â
The Vikings will follow a similar schedule a week earlier on April 15 against Corban and Seattle Pacific. The Vikings will begin with a match against Corban at 10 a.m. that day, then play Seattle Pacific at 2 p.m. Corban and Seattle Pacific, meanwhile, will face each other at 12 p.m.
Â
Outside of those two dates, the Vikings will also face Oregon in a stand-alone match on April 21 at Nike World Headquarters. That match won't be open to the public, however.
Â
The Vikings will close their spring schedule with a road match against Seattle U at 1 p.m. on May 6.
Â
Attendance will be free for all matches at Viking Pavilion. All Viking Pavilion matches will also be streamed for free on Twitter Live.
