Tacoma, WA – For the second round in a row the Portland State Vikings posted a team total of 306 to finish 20
th at the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational. The Vikings shot a 315-306-306=927 total over two days and 54 holes at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.

Grand Canyon rose from fourth place to win the team title with 296-290-280=866. The 'Lopes final round eight-under par 280 was the best of the tournament and allowed them to jump over Nevada, Santa Clara and UC Irvine to win the event by seven shots.

Also leaping up the leaderboard was Leah John of Nevada. John shot a tournament-best final-round score of six-under par 66. She was four shots back of the lead going into the final round but ended up winning with a five-under par 211 total. Carly Strole of Grand Canyon placed second with 212.
For the second tournament in a row the Vikings found themselves a player short when
Cynthia Valerie Ong had to withdraw on Tuesday due to illness. That left the Vikings with four players for four scores. Still, the Vikings matched their previous day score with one less player to contribute.

Payten Shimizu came in as the top Viking in the event. The sophomore posted 80-74-75=229 and tied for 68
th. It was the second best tournament score of her career and she led the team with six birdies.
Tannica Porter carded a second straight two-over par 74 and finished at 85-74-74=233. The junior tied for 86
th.

Mariana Garcia Rosette, a senior, came in with 78-80-78=236. FreshmanÂ
Momo Udom finished with her best round at 80-80-79=239.

Bayler Brundage, a sophomore playing as an individual, also finished with her best round, shooting 80-82-77=239.
