Let's Play! Volleyball Moves Up Season Start with Addition of Two Non-Conference Matches against Idaho this Weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland State volleyball fans have a week-shorter wait for the beginning of the Vikings' 2021 spring schedule as the team added two non-conference matches against the University of Idaho Thursday. The Vikings will host the Vandals at Viking Pavilion for back-to-back matches on Jan. 24 and 25.

The matches, which will not count towards the Big Sky standings, will allow the Vikings to model a Big Sky Conference weekend a week before they open conference play against Northern Arizona, Jan. 30-31.

Both matches will begin at 1 p.m. No fans will be allowed at either match, but both will air on Pluto TV channel 1051.

The Vikings return nine letterwinners from a team that narrowly missed a Big Sky tournament berth in 2019. Ellie Snook was named to the All-Big Sky second team after leading all freshmen in the NCAA with 5.47 digs per set, an average that broke the single-season record at Portland State.
