PORTLAND – Portland State men's tennis senior
Tommy Edwards sat down with the Big Sky Conference to discuss his journey as a Viking and what it has been like to play tennis in his home state.
Originally from Hillsboro, Ore., Edwards came to Portland State during the 2016-17 academic year and will leave as one of the top players in program history. This season, Edwards moved to No. 1 in all-time doubles wins and wins at No. 1 with 40. He has also tallied the second most singles wins with 38 and is second in Big Sky wins with 17. Earlier this season, Edwards was named Big Sky Player of the Week after his performance against Santa Clara where he picked up two wins, including a 6-4 doubles victory over the 52nd-ranked duo.
Edwards was a All-Big Sky Honorable Mention in singles during the 2018-19 season while also earning All-Big Sky Second-Team in doubles.
