In response to the increased caution being placed around health concerns due to COVID-19:

Beginning on March 13 and running through March 29, the Portland State Athletics program will not have any athletics activities, including practices, weight training sessions and team activities.

Student-athletes are completing winter final exams remotely this week. Spring break is next week.

Portland State campus and athletic offices have remained open, though many are working remotely.

Portland State Athletics will continue to evaluate national, state, and local trends regarding prevention of the spread of COVID-19. Next week, PSU will re-evaluate the structure of athletic activities for the spring term. Â

Portland State University will be conducting all spring classes remotely.

The Big Sky Conference has suspended all athletics competition and the NCAA has canceled spring sports championships.

The NCAA has adopted emergency legislation to establish a temporary recruiting dead period for all NCAA Division I and II sports, effective immediately, and in effect until at least April 15, 2020. As such, NLIs cannot be issued to Division I and II prospective student-athletes effective March 16, 2020 through at least April 15, 2020.

Once the NLI signing period resumes, the Division I football signing period (February 5 – April 1, 2020) will be extended by 30 days.Â

The CCA will evaluate the basketball signing period on or before April 15, 2020. [NOTE: This is necessary because the Division I men's and women's basketball signing starts April 15, 2020 and ends May 20, 2020.]
