Portland State Athletics has announced a transition in the leadership of its men's and women's tennis programs.
Director of Athletics Valerie Cleary announced on Thursday that men's coach Toby Krauel and women's coach Jay Sterling would not be retained.Â
"We appreciate all the work they each did for our tennis programs and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors," said Cleary.
Sterling came to Portland State as an assistant coach for both men's and women's programs in 2009. He was named Head Coach of both programs in 2010, then became the exclusive Head Coach of the women's program in 2013-14. Krauel has been the Head Coach of the men's program since 2013-14.
Cleary stated that a national search for new Head Coaches will begin immediately.
