Bojanic, Outslay Named Portland State's Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athletes Of The Year

OGDEN, Utah (July 5, 2018) - Volleyball star Tasha Bojanic and starting football offensive lineman Justin Outslay have been named the Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athlete Award winners for Portland State in 2017-18.

Bojanic wrapped up her Viking career on the court as the Big Sky's Libero of the Year. Meanwhile, Outslay completed his career on the gridiron as an Academic All-American. Both were Academic All-Big Sky Conference honorees as well.

The tandem appears on an impressive list of student-athletes from every Big Sky Conference school. The 2018 list includes an NCAA Team Champion, an NCAA Individual Runner-Up, two Big Sky Offensive Players of the Year, an Individual Player and Libero of the Year, four CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, seven All-Americans, 17 First Team All-Conference performers, two Second Team honorees, and four honorable mention.
 
The following student-athletes were selected by their respective institutions, based upon athletic and academic performances during the past academic year.
 
To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point-average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale), be a member of the graduating class and/or have completed their last year of intercollegiate athletic eligibility, have completed at least two years of intercollegiate competition and be a letterwinner in their respective sport.
