Filuk Shoots 71 For Vikings At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

Boulder City, NV – Junior Elise Filuk posted a one-under par 71 in the first round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Sunday at Boulder Creek Golf Club. Filuk had two birdies, adding an eagle on the 577-yard par-five 16th hole and is currently tied for 13th place.
 
Portland State shot 11-over par 299 on a day of excellent scoring by all 17 teams. The Vikings are tied for 15th with Minnesota.
 
Oregon State owns the lead after one round, posting a stunning eight-under par 280. Long Beach State and Tulsa are at 284. Five teams shot under par.
 
Olivia Jackson of Tulsa shot a six-under par 66 and holds a one-shot lead after 18 holes.
 
Junior Jasmine Cabajar and sophomore Iliana Telles each shot 75 for the Vikings. They are tied for 50th among 90 players.
 
Senior Shweta Mansingh posted a 77 and sophomore Windy Huang had 82.

• Elise Filuk's 71 matched her best round as a Viking, shot on Oct. 1 in the Rose City Collegiate. Iliana Telles' 75 matched her career best as a Viking shot last season at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
• Boulder Creek Golf Club is the site of the Big Sky Conference Championship next April.
