Portland State football signed two more student-athletes to national letters of intent for the 2017-18 academic year.
Beau Kelly, from Scottsdale's Chaparral High School, and
Amon Milliner, from Pasadena's La Salle High School, have both signed with the Vikings.
The two signings increase PSU's 2017 class to a total of 23, 21 of whom are high school signees.
Milliner, a 5-9, 195-pound running back, lettered in football and track at La Salle High School. He rushed 301 times for 2,406 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior. Milliner was named the Pasadena Star-News Area Player of the Year and he was selected All-CIF Division 9 1st team Offense. For his career, Milliner had 4,933 all-purpose yards and 43 touchdowns.
"Amon is our final addition at running back," said Viking Head Coach
Bruce Barnum. "He has all the tools to continue our tradition of fine running backs."
The Vikings have added three freshmen at the running back position for 2017.
Kelly, a 5-9, 165-pound wide receiver, lettered in football and baseball at Chaparral High School. As a senior, he caught 38 passes for 749 yards and eight touchdowns. Including his work as a kick returner, Kelly totaled 1,374 all-purpose yards and 11 TDs.
Kelly is the third freshman wide receiver added to the roster.
"Our receiver line was too short and we needed the right fit to our program. Beau has a toughness and attitude that put him above the other receivers we were looking at," said Barnum.
Portland State begins spring football on April 5. A complete practice schedule is listed below.
The Viking spring prospectus will be released on Monday.
