VIKING INVASION

The Portland State Football team hit the streets Tuesday afternoon with one simple message: come watch us play!

Joined by a contingent of Vikings faithful including coaches, staff, and volunteers, the team split into small groups and ventured into Portland neighborhoods for a grassroots marketing effort deemed "Viking Invasion."

Armed with posters, flyers and other materials the team looked to spread the word about Portland State Football by visiting local businesses, meeting community members and personally inviting them to an upcoming game at Providence Park.  

In total, nearly 300 businesses were visited. Many chose to proudly displayy Portland State posters and flyers for the duration of the season.

The Invasion is not over yet; another group will be out in the community again on Thursday with the same message.

We are Portland State Football and are fun to watch. We play at Providence Park, the best sports venue in town. We want you to come watch us play!
