PORTLAND, Ore. – Using everyone on its roster, the Portland State volleyball squad picked up a straight-sets victory over Trinity Western in an exhibition match at the Stott Center on Wednesday night.

Michael Seemann used all 14 players on his team as they used the match as a tuneup for this weekend's contest at Sacramento State.
Portland State controlled the momentum for much of the match against the Spartans, trailing early in each of the first two sets before taking over. The Vikings never trailed in set three.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.
"It was great to see contributions from everyone tonight. I'm especially proud of the way we finished sets," said Seemann.
Nine different Portland State players recorded a kill, led by
Whitney Phillips' nine and
Lana Zielke's seven. Phillips didn't commit an error on 12 swings and finished with a .750 hitting percentage. Zielke hit .429 as PSU registered a .227 mark.
Defensively, Portland State outdug the Spartans, 37-29, getting 12 digs from
Diana Villalpando.
Trinity Western's Kara JansenVanDoom recorded a .458 hitting percentage and 11 kills, and Andrea Ball led the team with 12 digs.
NOTES: This is the second straight year that PSU and Trinity Western have played an exhibition at the Stott Center ... the Spartans are from Langley, BC ... the Vikings play at Sacramento State this Saturday at 7 p.m. ... PSU is 8-6 overall, 4-0 in the Big Sky.
