The Big Sky Tournament Championship is Wednesday, Mar. 11, at 9:30 p.m. MT/8:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2.

Head Coach Jase Coburn, now in his fifth season on the Park Blocks, has led the steady progression of the Viking program to its first Big Sky title in nearly two decades. The Vikings have gone from 7th to 6th to 3rd to 1st over the past four seasons, winning 6, 8, 11 and now 13 Big Sky games. Coburn has an 81-74 record overall at PSU. He is 2-4 in Big Sky Tournament games.

The Vikings program has been led by the unquestioned talents of three seniors. SR F Terri Miller Jr. ranks in the top 10 in the Big Sky in five statistical categories and leads the Vikings with 18.9 points per game. SR G Jaylin Henderson has been the dynamic presence leading the offense with 17.9 points and 6.0 assists per game. HOT SHOTS
  • 1K AND COUNTING: SR G Jaylen Henderson passed 1,000 points in his collegiate career at Montana State (2/26). Henderson scored 107 points in his one season at Louisiana Tech. He has since scored 935 points at Portland State in two seasons for a total of 1,042... SR G Brycen Long passed 1,000 career points against Weber State (3/2). He has scored 70 points this season at PSU and previously had 24 at Arizona State and 908 points at Houston Christian... SR F Terri Miller Jr. is at 971 career points (55 at Louisiana Tech, 916 at PSU).
  • STAT AND STITCH STUFFER: SR F Terri Miller Jr. was having his way with the Weber State Wildcats in the first half last Monday. Miller had 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a blocked shot by halftime. But he got hit in the mouth in a scrum on the final play of the half. As a result, Miller needed stitches in his bottom lip and missed the first nine minutes of the second half. The Vikings had the game well in hand by the time he returned, but Miller still finished with 18 points, five rebounds, six assists, three steals, three blocks and seven stitches.... it would likely have been another 20-point game for Miller without the injury, but he still has 13 20-point games this season (nine in Big Sky games). He averages 18.9 points to lead the Vikings.
  • DOUBLE-DOUBLES: SR G Jaylin Henderson had his third points-assists double-double of the season with 20 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in the win over Weber State. It was his second 20-10 game... SR C Tre-Vaughn Minott leads the Big Sky Conference with eight double-doubles... JR G Keyon Kensie ranks third with seven double-doubles. Terri Miller Jr. has four double-doubles (including a triple-double), with three being pts-reb and one being pts-ast.
  • WINNING: PSU's 19 wins currently ties for fourth-most in the Big Sky Conference era (30 seasons)... the Vikings' 13 Big Sky wins rank as second-most in school history (PSU was 14-2 in 2007-08)... PSU's six straight road wins (Jan. 1-Feb. 12) established a new school record. It broke a mark of five set between Jan. 21 and Feb. 15, 1954! (the Vikings' longest Big Sky road winning streak is nine games and stretched over two seasons - 2008 and 2009)... the six Big Sky road wins ties for most in a season (6-2 in 2007-08)... Portland State reached 7-0 in league play for the first time in its Big Sky history (30th year). The Vikings had gotten to 4-0 twice previously (1997-98, 2004-05).
  • SWEEPING: Portland State has swept season series from Idaho State, Sacramento State, Northern Arizona, Weber State and Idaho.
  • DEFENSIVE PRESENCE: Portland State leads the Big Sky Conference in four defensive categories: scoring defense (69.9), field goal percentage defense (.413), steals (7.6) and turnovers forced (12.7).
  • IRON MAN: Earlier this season, SR G Jaylin Henderson had a stretch of eight straight complete games (330 consecutive minutes) before having to sit down in the second half at Idaho (1/24) due to foul problems. His total stretch of consecutive minutes played was 354. He leads the Big Sky in minutes (37.1) and ranks eighth in the nation... Henderson has played 10 complete games.
  • TRENDING: Portland State is undefeated when leading at halftime (14-0) and scoring 80 or more points (9-0)... the Vikings are 15-3 when out-rebounding opponents, 18-1 when out-shooting an opponent.
  • STRANGE BUT TRUE: Although they are 19-10, the Vikings have led at halftime in only 14 games (14-0) while trailing 15 times (5-10).
  • DUNK YOU VERY MUCH: With seven dunks against Weber State in the regular season finale, Portland State reached 124 dunks for the season in 29 games. That breaks the school record of 123 dunks last season in 32 games... SR C Tre-Vaughn Minott broke his own school record for dunks in a season and has set a new school record for dunks in a career. Minott now has 58 dunks (previous record, 44). He has 105 career dunks, passing Scott Morrison (91) for that record... Minott's 58 dunks account for nearly half of his field goals (123). Not surprisingly, he shoots .665 from the field... also having big dunk seasons are SR G Jaylin Henderson (25) and SR G Keyon Kensie Jr. (28)... 10 different Vikings have dunks this season... PSU had a season-high 11 dunks against Northwest Indian (11/7). The school record for the team in a game is 13... Henderson had five dunks against Northwest Indian (11/7) to tie a school record set by teammate SR C Tre-Vaughn Minott last season in a game against Idaho. Minott tied it again with five dunks against San Francisco (11/12).
