FARMINGTON, Utah – Following a no-hit shutout against North Dakota on Friday, Portland State softball senior Sherreigh Nakoa-Chung was named Co-Big Sky Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The honor marks the second of Nakoa-Chung's career, with her first coming as a junior in 2025.
Making three appearances in doubleheaders against North Dakota and Santa Clara, the right-hander's highlight came in Friday's opener against the Fighting Hawks, tossing a no-hit shutout to lift the Vikings to a 1-0 win. She struck out a career-high 10 batters and held a North Dakota lineup—averaging nearly eight hits per game entering the contest—hitless.
Across her three appearances, the Waianae, Hawaii native posted a 1.40 ERA over 10 innings, allowing just three hits—none for extra bases—while holding opponents to a .091 batting average.
She enters conference play at Montana next weekend with a team-best 5-6 record and ranks second in the Big Sky with 52 strikeouts this season.
