PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland State Athletics will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a special clinic as part of the Vikings' women's basketball game against Eastern Washington on Feb. 8.

The clinic will be from 1-2 p.m. in the practice gym ahead of the Vikings' 2 p.m. tipoff that day. Portland State student-athletes from the Vikings' various athletic teams will run activity stations showcasing an aspect of their respective sports. The clinic is open to all kids aged 12 and under.

No registration is required.
A ticket to the Portland State women's basketball game that day is the only purchase necessary to attend.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day will be officially observed on Feb. 5 this year. The day is held during the first week of February every year to recognize the accomplishments of female athletes as well as the positive impact sports participation has on women and girls.

The Vikings hosted similar clinics in
2019 and
2020.

The game on Feb. 8 will also serve as the Vikings' Pink Out game in honor of those affected by breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
