PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland State women's basketball team bolstered its depth in the post Monday as six-foot forward
Paige Winter has signed with the Vikings.
Winter comes to the Vikings after spending a year each at William Jessup and Centralia College. At Centralia, Winter led the team in both scoring and rebounding during the 2021-22 season with averages of 14.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. At William Jessup for the 2020-21 season, Winter was part of a conference title-winning team while averaging 8.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
"We're excited to welcome Paige to the Viking family," head coach
Chelsey Gregg said of Winter's signing. "She is a workhorse that will bring passion and physicality to our roster as well as give us some depth at the post position."
Winter prepped at Rochester High School in Rochester, Wash., where she scored 1,253 total points while averaging 16.3 points and 8.6 rebounds as a senior. She earned first-team all-2A Evergreen Conference honors as a senior, and earned back-to-back spots on The Chronicle's All-Area Team during her last two years of high school.
Winter earned AP all-state honorable mention within Class 2A as a senior, as well.
