The Path is Set! Vikings Announce 2025-26 Schedule

FULL SCHEDULE

PORTLAND, Ore. —
The first year of the Karlie Burris era for the Portland State women's basketball program has a defined path now, as the Vikings released their 2025-26 schedule Monday.

Burris will lead the Vikings through an ambitious schedule that will see the Vikings play only one game against a non-D1 opponent. Instead, the Vikings will test themselves through the preseason against teams from a variety of Division I conferences. They'll play three teams from the Big West Conference (Hawai'i, UC San Diego, Cal State Fullerton), as well as two each from the Summit League (South Dakota, Kansas City), Mountain West Conference (Air Force, San Jose State) and Western Athletic Conference (Utah Tech, Seattle U). The Vikings will also play games against Colorado from the Big 12 and Portland from the West Coast Conference.

An exhibition against Warner Pacific on Oct. 30 will get the Vikings warmed up before they officially open their season at Hawai'i on Nov. 4. The Vikings return home for their lone non-D1 game the following week – a Nov. 11 meeting against Willamette – before hitting the road for three straight games. The Vikings play at Colorado and Air Force on Nov. 16 and Nov. 18, respectively, then head to Utah Tech for a game on Nov. 22.

The Vikings return home for two games over Thanksgiving weekend as they'll host San Jose State and UC San Diego on Nov. 28 and Nov. 30, respectively.

The Big Sky-Summit Challenge follows the next week. The Vikings host South Dakota to open the challenge on Dec. 3, then play at Kansas City on Dec. 6.

The Vikings stay on the road for a game at Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 13, before closing out non-conference play with home games against Seattle U and Portland on Dec. 17 and Dec. 21, respectively.

Big Sky play starts on New Year's Day for the Vikings, as they host Weber State and Idaho State on Jan. 1 and Jan. 3, respectively.

The home start belies what's really a road-heavy beginning to the conference schedule for the Vikings. Six of their first 10 conference games will be on the road before the Vikings close with five of eight at home.

After their conference opening weekend over New Year's, the Vikings hit the road for three straight at Sacramento State (Jan. 10), Northern Colorado (Jan. 15) and Northern Arizona (Jan. 17). The Vikings return home for games against Eastern Washington (Jan. 22) and Idaho (Jan. 24), before hitting the road for three more on the road at Montana (Jan. 29), Montana State (Jan. 31) and Idaho State (Feb. 2).

A home game against Sacramento State on Feb. 7 kicks off a stretch of five home games over the next three weeks. The Vikings host Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado the following week on Feb. 12 and Feb. 14, respectively. The Vikings play at Idaho and Eastern Washington on Feb. 19 and Feb. 21, respectively, but then return home for games against Montana State (Feb. 26) and Montana (Feb. 28) to close out their home schedule.

The Vikings wrap the regular season on the road at Weber State on March 2. The Big Sky Tournament begins in Boise, Idaho, the following week, March 7-11.
