Tempe, Ariz. – Portland State men's tennis incoming freshman Lachlan Robertson finished at the top of the men's standings at the ITA Tennis-Point Summer Circuit, earning an automatic berth to the ITA Tennis-Point National Summer Championships.
The Circuit was held over six weekends across 26 states, beginning mid-June and continuing through July. Robertson was crowned the Men's Points Race Champion after compiling 1,175 points, including three wins and a semifinal finish at another Summer Circuit event.
Top five finishers, including Robertson, will compete at the National Summer Championships, which will take place from August 11-16 at Florida State University. Robertson will enter the Summer Championships with an 11.71 Universal Tennis Rating. The event will feature 64 athletes, all vying for a wildcard spot into the ITA All-American Championships later in the year.
The Summer Circuit powered by Universal Tennis provides an opportunity for incoming first-year student-athletes and current collegiate players to compete in the summer months. Due to NCAA compliance purposes, the events are categorized as "open," meaning anyone – including high-level juniors and adults- is eligible to compete.
