FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Portland State men's tennis finished its weekend in Arizona with a 7-0 loss to Northern Arizona on Saturday.
The Vikings moved to 3-13 on the year and 1-6 in conference action, while the Lumberjacks jumped to 17-8 overall and 5-2 in Big Sky play.
After sweeping the shorthanded Vikings in doubles play, the Lumberjacks took the opening point. Due to a forfeited match at No. 3 doubles, NAU clinched the point with a 6-0 win at No. 2. Battling it out on court one, Oliver Richards and Nils Plutat came up just short in a 7-5 loss to Facundo Tumosa and Eban Straker-Meads.
The Lumberjacks remained in control during the singles portion, picking up straight-set wins on the top five courts while winning the sixth point due to a forfeit.
The Vikings will play in their final dual of the season next Saturday, April 23, against Idaho at the Tualatin Hills Babette Horenstein Tennis Center (10 a.m.).
