Portland State Basketball Coach
Jase Coburn has announced the signing of transfer Kendall Munson to a grant-in-aid agreement for the 2022-23 season.
Munson, a 6-7 junior forward, comes to the Park Blocks after playing two seasons at Pepperdine.
"Kendall is extremely talented and hard working. I am really excited to coach him," said Coburn. "We put a lot of value in the fact that we knew him as a person and that was just as important as his talent. With three years of eligibility remaining, it allows us to build a program and we are expecting him to be a big part of that."
A graduate of Seattle's Garfield High School, Munson led his team to a 2020 3A state title while earning All-Metro League first team honors. He played for Brandon Roy at Garfield. Current PSU assistant coach
Jamaal Williams was also an assistant at Garfield and coached Munson on the Seattle Rotary AAU team.
While a junior, Munson attended Puyallup High School where he averaged 16.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. He was named to the Tacoma News Tribune All-Area first team and the 4A All-South Puget Sound first team.
Munson played two seasons at Pepperdine, competing in 45 games with three starts, averaging 13.3 minutes per game, 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and shot .530 from the field.
