DAVIS, Calif. - The Portland State men's tennis team came up short in a 7-0 loss to UC Davis on Saturday.
The Vikings fell to 2-7 overall while the Aggies improved to 8-11.
UC Davis took the opening point, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Sam De Vries and
Nils Plutat highlighted the Vikings in the singles portion. Plutat stretched Andrei Volgin to a third set at the top spot before eventually falling 6-3, 7-5, 10-8. De Vries did the same at No. 4 singles, winning his opening set 6-4 before being edged out by Ryan Morgan 6-4, 2-6, 10-8.

The Vikings will return to action next weekend against Eastern Washington (March 11) and Montana State (March 12) at the Tualatin Hills Babette Horenstein Tennis Center.
