SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Portland State men's tennis team fell in its second consecutive Big Sky dual on Friday, 7-0 at Sacramento State.
The Vikings moved to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in Big Sky play while the Hornets stayed hot, improving to 7-4 on the year and 1-0 in conference action.
Sacramento State established themselves early, earning three-straight wins in doubles action to take a 1-0 lead.
Searching for his fourth singles win of the season,
Oliver Richards put Jan Silva to the test in the opening set at No. 3 singles but eventually fell 7-5, 6-3. Â Â
Tommy Hsu battled Mate Voros at the No. 2 spot, nearly pushing a third set but coming up short 6-1, 7-5.
The Hornets picked up wins on the remaining four courts to clinch the 7-0 sweep.
