PORTLAND, Ore. – Fresh off its first conference win of the season last weekend, the Portland State women's tennis will play Idaho on Monday, March 21 at the Tualatin Hills Babette Horenstein Tennis Center.
The Vikings will enter the match at 6-8 overall and 1-3 in Big Sky play after going 1-1 against Montana State and Montana last weekend.
Following a 4-3 loss to the Bobcats on Friday, the Vikings bounced back with a commanding 6-1 win over Montana on Sunday. After a dominant weekend at the No. 1 spot,
Capu Sanoner picked up her third Big Sky Player of the Week honor on Tuesday. The Sophomore improved to 2-2 against conference opponents in singles play, defeating Montana State's Marta Garcia (6-3, 6-2) and Montana's Olivia Oosterbaan (5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (4)).
Nika Beukers and Sanoner remained unbeaten in doubles play against Big Sky opponents after a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles.
The Vikings are an impressive 29-10 in doubles play and 8-1 in conference action, winning all but three doubles points this season.
Freshman Mariajose Hernandez Coronado is riding a four-match win streak at the five and six spots. She leads the Vikings in singles victories at 8-5. Following wins over Montana on Sunday,

Makoto Ohara and Jacitina Milenkoski have won two of their last three matches entering Monday.
SCOUTING IDAHO
Idaho was picked sixth in the Big Sky Preseason Coaches Poll, released in January. They enter Monday's dual 4-6 overall with a 2-0 record in conference action, earning wins over Montana State and Montana.
Portland State trails the all-time series 2-14, after splitting with the Vandals in 2021. After falling in the first matchup last season (4-2), the Vikings rebounded with just the second win over the Vandals in program history, 4-3 on the road.
