Vikings Drop 7-0 Decision at Washington

SEATTLE – The Portland State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the University of Washington in Seattle on Saturday, March 6. 

The Vikings fall to 4-5 on the year while the Huskies improve to 5-5 overall.

The Huskies earned a trio of victories in doubles action to begin the day, posting 6-1 (No. 1), 6-2 (No.2), and 6-2 (No. 3) victories.  

Sam Roberts and Tommy Hsu highlighted singles play for Portland State. Roberts pushed Nikit Reddy to a tiebreaker at No. 6, ultimately dropping the match 4-6, 7-5, 8-10. Hsu tested his opponent in the four spot, falling 5-7, 0-6. Locking in victories in the other four spots, Washington ran away with a 7-0 sweep of the Vikings to earn their fifth win of the season. 

Portland State will return to action next Saturday (March 13) at home in a dual with Big Sky opponent Montana State. They will look to improve on their 1-0 record in Big Sky play.
