HILLSBORO – The Portland State women's soccer team fell in their home opener to Idaho on Friday, 5-0.

The loss drops the Vikings to 0-3 (0-3 BSC) while the Vandals improve to 1-4 (1-2 BSC).

Idaho scored back-to-back goals in the 22
nd and 32
nd minutes of the first half before ending the opening 45 minutes of play netting another goal to take a 3-0 lead on the Vikings.

Portland State saw most of its opportunities in the opening half, recording six out of their seven shots in the opening 45 minutes of action. Â

The Vandals didn't take their foot off the pedal as they added to their lead in the 74
th and 77
th minutes. The Vikings were unable to chip away at the lead, falling in their third game of the year 5-0.

Enya Hernandez spent all 90 minutes in goal for PSU, recording three saves.
Van Winstone and
Emilee Greve each recorded a team-high two shots, Greve putting one of those on goal.

The Vikings will get a chance to redeem themselves on Sunday as they take on the Vandals at 1:00 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium.
