MISSOULA, Mont. - The Portland State women's soccer team held Montana scoreless in a 0-0 double-overtime draw on Sunday afternoon.
The tie moves the Viking's record to 3-6-1 on the year and 1-1-1 in Big Sky action while Montana sits 7-4-1 and 3-0-1 in the conference play.
Sunday marked Portland State's first overtime match of the year and the first shutout since 2019. The Vikings came out strong, firing off four shots in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. Viking goalkeeper
Sidney O'billovich held her own in goal, saving four of Montana's seven shot attempts in the first half.
PSU tallied five shots in the second half, seeing two of those land in the hands of Montana goalkeeper Camellia Xu. The Grizzlies poured on the pressure down the stretch, recording five shots in the final six minutes of action. Â Â
Abi Hoffman gave the Vikings their best look in overtime, sending a shot wide in the 97th minute. Neither team was able to get a shot off in the second overtime period as time expired.
O'billovich ended the day matching her career-high nine saves. Montana out-shot the Vikings 19-11, recording ten of their shots in the second half. Hoffman led PSU with three attempts while seven different Vikings clocked a full 110 minutes of work in the match.
Portland State will return home for a pair of Big Sky matchups beginning with Eastern Washington on Friday at Hillsboro Stadium (11:30 AM PT).
