Portland State Basketball has added another grant-in-aid signee to its roster for the 2017-18 season. Head Coach Barret Peery has announced the addition of Jamie Orme to the program.

Orme joins the Vikings from Highline Community College where he starred for the Thunderbirds the past two seasons. The 6-7 forward was a first team All-Western Region selection in 2016-17 as he averaged 19.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game. Orme was also named to the Western Region All-Defensive Team.

"Jamie brings a great amount of athleticism to our program and will really fit how we want to play at both ends of the floor," said Peery. "I love Jamie's attitude and effort for the game, he has a passion to play."

As a freshman at Highline CC, Orme averaged 19.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Originally from Seattle, Orme attended O'Dea High School. 

Peery was hired as the new coach at Portland State on April 10 and introduced to the Portland State community on April 13. Orme is the fifth signee to the Viking program for the 2017-18 season and the fourth signing by Peery. 

Orme joins a Viking team that was 15-16 last year. Portland State has eight players returning that are letterwinners.
