POCATELLO, Idaho – The Vikings dropped their series finale against the Idaho State Bengals by a score of 12-4 in five innings Sunday afternoon in Pocatello, Idaho.

The Vikings got on the scoreboard with three runs in the top of the first inning.
Shae Nelson led off the game by reaching on a fielding error by the ISU shortstop.
Korina Krueg singled to left field to put two runners on.

Marissa Bruno singled and advanced all the way to third base on a throwing error by the Bengals' pitcher. Nelson and Krueg both scored on the throwing error to put the Vikings up 2-0.
Kortney Craker drove in Bruno on a fielder's choice to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead at the end of the first.

Nelson singled and then scored on a Bruno single in the top of the second to put the Vikings up 4-0 heading to the bottom of the inning.

Idaho State plated five runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-4 lead. The Bengals scored seven more runs over the next three innings to take the game 12-4 in five innings.

Nelson, Krueg, Bruno, and
Alexis Morrison all recorded multiple hits in the game. The Vikings tallied 12 hits on the day but stranded nine runners on base.

The Vikings open their home schedule on Wednesday, March 29 with a single game against the Oregon State Beavers at the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex in Hillsboro, Ore. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. PT.Â
