THE OPENING TIP The Vikings return home for a pair of league games this week at the Peter W. Stott Center. Portland State will take second looks at Idaho State and Weber State beginning Thursday against the Bengals.
Portland State and Idaho State will tip-off at 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, Feb. 11 as the Vikings are hosting a Kid's Field Trip Day. Students from all around the area will participate in campus tours as well as a department fair with representatives from programs all across campus. They will then head to the main gym and cheer on the Vikings.
The Vikings welcome the Weber State Wildcats to the Stott Center on Saturday, Feb. 13 for a 2 p.m. PT tip.

LAST TIME OUT• Portland State is coming off an 0-2 road trip through the state of Montana. The Vikings opened the weekend with a 10-point loss (74-64) to conference-leading Montana State. Portland State took the lead in the fourth quarter against Montana but could not hold on after a pair of key players fouled out.

Kian McNair posted her best to games of the season against the Montana schools. She opened the week with 19 points against the Bobcats before scoring a career-high 22 points against the Lady Griz. She averaged 20.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and went a perfect 16-for-16 at the line.
• Sophomore G
Cici West averaged 15.5 ppg and 11.5 rpg, while shooting .636 (14-for-22) from the floor on the weekend. She posted her eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and 15 rebounds against the Bobcats.
IDAHO STATE QUICK HITS• Head Coach Seton Sobolewski is 123-113 in eight seasons leading Idaho State. The Bengals are 10-11 overall and 3-7 in conference play this season. They are 5-4 at home, 4-7 on the road, and 1-0 at a neutral site.
• Idaho State opened the season 2-4 before going on a five-game winning streak to finish out non-conference play. The Bengals opened league play with four-straight losses to Weber State, Northern Colorado, North Dakota, and Sacramento State.
• Idaho State then won three-straight, starting with Portland State. The Bengals have lost each of their last three games by a combined six points.
• Idaho State is averaging 62.6 points per game while allowing 63.1 ppg (-0.7 scoring margin). The Bengals are shooting .420 from the floor, .310 from three-point range, and .676 from the free-throw line.
• Senior G Apiphany Woods leads the team with 13.6 points and 3.2 assists per game. She has scored in double-figures 18 times, including a pair of 20-point games.
VS. IDAHO STATE: Idaho State leads the all-time series, 29-22, dating back to the 1980-81 season. The Vikings took five of the first seven games of the series. PSU won seven-of-eight games from 2008-11. ISU has won the last nine games in the series.
WEBER STATE QUICK HITS• Head Coach Bethann Ord is 35-102 in five seasons leading the Wildcats. Weber State is 15-6 overall and 7-3 in league play this season. The Wildcats are 6-4 at home, 8-2 on the road, and 1-0 at a neutral site.
• Weber State opened the season 6-1 before going 2-2 in its next four non-conference games.
• The Wildcats opened league play with a 61-46 win at Idaho State. They then won at North Dakota (62-56) before falling at Northern Colorado (65-63) on a last second shot.
• Weber State won four out of its next five games before falling in a one-point loss to Idaho State. The Wildcats then won three-straight, including a triple-overtime win against Northern Colorado (82-79). They dropped their last game, in another overtime contest, to North Dakota by seven points (85-78).
• Weber State is averaging 65.8 points per game this season while allowing a league-best 57.7 ppg. The Wildcats are shooting .409 as a team while opponents are shooting .413 from the floor.
• Senior G Regina Okoye leads the team with 16.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season. During conference play, she has upped her scoring total to 20.2 ppg.
VS. WEBER STATE: Weber State leads the all-time series, 25-24, all-time dating back to the 1982-83 season. Weber State won the first four meetings in the series. Portland State won seven-straight games from 2011-2014, before losing 60-51 last season at the Peter W. Stott Center.

Michaela Kay hit a three-pointer with 30 seconds left to give the Vikings the lead. EWU hit one of two free-throws and could not get the game-winning shot to fall as the Vikings held on for the win.
• Portland State had six players, including all five starters, score in double-figures in its win against Eastern Washington.
Pia Jurhar led all Vikings with 18 points, while
Cici West recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Corey James added 16 and 10 points respectively. All 16 of Torres Negron's points, including a career-high four three-pointers, came in the second half.
• The Vikings picked up their second win, an 83-77 win over CSUN, in their final non-conference game of the year. Portland State hit a season-high 12 three-pointers shooting 44.4 percent (12-for-27) from three-point range. PSU went 9-for-12 from distance in the second half.

The current roster is made up of four upperclassmen (three juniors, one senior) and 10 underclassmen (two redshirt sophomores, four true sophomores, and four true freshmen). Three of the four true sophomores are sitting out this season due to NCAA transfer rules.

PRESEASON TEAM NOTES: Here are some quick-hitters about the Portland State women's basketball team heading into the season:
• Portland State went 4-25 overall and 2-16 in Big Sky conference play en route to a last place finish in the league. It was the Vikings' worst record since the 2004-05 season when they went 3-23 overall and 1-13 in Big Sky Conference play.
• Portland State returns just three letterwinners from the 2014-15 season. The Vikings lost nine letterwinners and all five starters off last year's squad, including five of its top six scorers from a year ago.
• Portland State returners have a combined four letters of experience at Portland State. There are a combined seven total letters of NCAA Division I experience on the roster, including transfers and redshirts.
• Portland State adds five incoming freshmen, five transfers, and a pair of redshirts for 2015-16. Three of the five transfers will have to sit out the season due to NCAA Transfer Rules.

• Portland State is in its 20th season as a member of the Big Sky Conference
• Construction of the new Viking Pavilion will begin in the spring of 2016. The Pavilion will consist of an upgraded Stott Center facility, including a new arena for Viking basketball, as well as athletic training enhancements, academic upgrades and overall facility enhancements. The Viking Pavilion will more than double the capacity of PSU's home court (to be situated on the east side of the building) to somewhere between 3,000-5,000 seats.
• The 12-team Big Sky Conference has a new post-season set-up and format. The Big Sky will move its conference tournament to a neutral site in Reno, NV. All 12 teams will be part of the tournament for the first time as it takes place at the Reno Events Center.
