Sacramento, CA - Cameron Forte is becoming a true road warrior for the Portland State Vikings. Forte produced his second straight double-double on the road in leading PSU to its second straight road win, 81-63, at Sacramento State.

Forte scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Vikings in a dominant performance. He made 12-15 shots from the field and added in four assists for good measure. In his previous road outing, the senior forward went for 26 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Montana State.

This was a shared victory for the Vikings though as they shot a season-best .642 from the field making 34 of 53 shots. They had a season-high 26 assists.

Guard Zach Gengler, inserted into the starting lineup, scored 13 points and had a career-high eight assists. Calaen Robinson pitched in 13 points and four assists, while Donivine Stewart added seven assists.

Portland State evened its Big Sky Conference record at 3-3, and improved to 7-10 overall this season. The win completes a season sweep over Sacramento State (8-9, 1-5).

The Vikings roared out to a 19-6 lead in the first nine minutes of the game. The hot shooting continued as PSU made 20-29 shots (.696) in the first half to lead 44-27 at intermission.

Portland State got contributions from up and down the lineup. Forte had 12 of PSU's 20 bench points at the half. At that point, the Vikings had outscored the Hornets, 26-6, in the paint.

The Hornets got as close as eight points with eight minutes to play in the second half, but the Vikings maintained a double-digit lead for most of the game. They never trailed.

Justin Strings scored 17 points to lead Sacramento State. The Hornets shot a decent 25-51 from the field (.490), but they were bullied inside as the Vikings outscored them 48-28 in the paint.
