The Portland State Vikings (10-27 overall, 3-6 Big Sky Conference) will continue Big Sky Conference play this weekend when they travel to Pocatello, Idaho to take on the Idaho State Bengals (22-14, 7-2) for a three-game set. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Friday, April 10 starting at 2 p.m. MT and will conclude with a single game on Saturday, April 11 beginning at 1 p.m. MT.

The Bengals
     Idaho State enters play this weekend 22-14 overall and 7-2 in Big Sky play. The Bengals are tied atop the conference standings with Weber State and Sacramento State. 
     The Bengals are hitting .304 at the plate overall this season and .339 in Big Sky Conference action. They have out-scored their opponents 212-to-151 this season and have hit 99 extra-base hits (51 doubles, 13 triples, and 35 home runs). They have a .491 slugging percentage and a .381 on-base percentage. The Bengals have had success on the base paths, going 53-for-61 in stolen base attempts. 
     Kacie Burnett is hitting .475 at the plate this season, 12th best in the nation. She has 56 hits in 118 plate appearances and has scored a team-high 45 runs. Burnett is 24-for-25 in stolen base attempts. 
     Vickie Galasso is hitting .425 with a team-high 15 home runs and 56 RBIs. She is hitting a home run every 7.67 at bats this season. 
     The Idaho State pitching staff has a combined 3.92 ERA and has allowed 130 earned runs over 232 1/3 innings. Ashlyn Ames leads the team with a 7-4 record and a 3.09 ERA. Sophie Slagle has thrown the most innings this season (103 2/3) and has allowed 59 earned runs. She has walked 59 and struck out 55. Opponents are hitting .296 off Idaho State pitching.

The Vikings are scheduled for five games next week as they will play a rescheduled mid-weed doubleheader with Oregon on Tuesday, April 14 at 4 p.m. The Vikings will then head to North Dakota for a three-game Big Sky Conference set. 

News & Notes
First Series Win
Portland State picked up its first Big Sky Conference series victory under Head Coach Barb Sherwood with a 2-1 series win over Northern Colorado (4/3-4/4). The Vikings walked-off to take game one of the series before dropping the second game. They won the rubber match 3-1 to take the series. 

Hendrix Dealing
Sophomore LHP Meagan Hendrix had everything working against Northern Colorado (4/3-4/4). Hendrix picked up a pair of wins, going 2-0 with a 0.62 ERA after allowing just one run over 11 1/3 innings against the Bears. She allowed just seven hits and three walks while striking out five. The Bears hit just .171 off her. 

Nitschelm Hot at the Plate
Senior OF Aubrey Nitschelm hit .800 against Northern Colorado (4/3-4/4) going 8-for-10. She scored the game-winning run to win the series opener ofr the Vikings. 

Walk-Off Win
Portland State came from behind and walked-off with a 4-3 win over Northern Colorado (4/3) to open its three-game series with the Bears. Alex Flores doubled over the left fielder's head and drove in two runs for the come from behind win. It was the first time under second-year Head Coach Barb Sherwood that the Vikings have won a game when trailing after the sixth inning. They were previously 0-37 when trailing after six. 

Crooked Numbers for Hendrickson
Brittany Hendrickson is hitting .522 (12-for-23) with four runs scored, three doubles, and 11 RBIs over her current seven-game hitting streak. During her streak she has four multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games, including a four-RBI game at Seattle (4/1). Hendrickson has also reached base safely in the last 13 games for the Vikings.
