FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Freshman point guard
Delanie Parry was the bright spot for the Vikings as they stumbled out of the gate falling, 84-61, to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks Thursday afternoon in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Parry scored a career-high 14 points to lead the Vikings. Parry went 6-for-10 from the floor, both career highs, while going 2-for-2 at the free-throw line. Parry also led the Vikings with three assists and five steals. Parry is scoring nearly 10 points per game in her last three games.
Kate Lanz scored 11 second-half points for the Vikings.

Lariel Powell, and
Allie Brock each added 10 points for the Vikings.
Northern Arizona led by one point early at 5-4. The Lumberjacks went on a 10-4 run over the next 3:47 to go up by 16 at 24-8. It was all NAU from that point on as it held a 44-19 lead at the break. The 'Jacks went up by as much as 35 points in the second half before the Vikings closed out the game on a 12-0 run cutting the lead to the final margin.
NAU's Amanda Frost, the Big Sky's leading scorer, led all scorers with 28 points, 18 of which came in the first half. Six Lumberjacks, including all five starters, scored in double figures.
Northern Arizona outshot Portland State .527-to-.380 in the game. The Vikings did well for themselves at the line going 20-for-25.Â
The Vikings continue their road trip Saturday when they take on the Sacramento State Hornets in Sacramento. The Hornets host the Eastern Washington Eagles Thursday night.
