EUGENE – Senior forward
Allie Brock posted a team-high 20 points, but the Vikings fell to the Oregon Ducks, 113-78, Saturday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, OR. Brock went 8-for-14 from the floor and 4-for-8 from the free-throw line. It was her second 20-point performance of the season.
Senior forward
Angela Misa posted her third straight double-double, and fourth straight double-digit scoring performance, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Misa added a pair of assists and tied her career high with three blocks.
Portland State (2-5 overall) trailed Oregon (6-2) by just two points in second half scoring, 45-43, but the Ducks got out to a big lead in the first half taking a 68-35 advantage into the break.
Mikaela Rivard was the big scorer for the Vikings in the first half scoring all of her 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, which included her first three-pointer of the season. Rivard had been scoreless on the season after playing just 16 minutes over two games coming back from an injury.
Oregon started the game on a 10-0 run before building up a 33-point lead at the break. The Ducks went up by as much as 35 points in the second half. The Vikings cut into the lead but the Ducks built it back up, taking the game 113-78.
Brock led the way for the Vikings in the second half with 14 points, which included going 6-for-10 from the line. Misa scored 10 of her 16 points in the second while recording five of her 10 rebounds.
Oregon finished the game with seven players in double figures led by Chrishae Rowe's game-high 24. Rowe went 9-for-20 from the floor in the contest. Jillian Alleyne posted a double-double for Oregon with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The Vikings head back on the road for their longest, distance wise, trip of the season. They head to Atlanta, GA for a Tuesday, Dec. 17 game with Georgia Tech. Tipoff will be 4 p.m. PT.
