THIS WEEK: The Portland State softball team (18-20 overall, 8-4 PCSC) hosts Pacific Coast Softball Conference Mountain Division rival Seattle (14-12, 7-5) for a four-game series this Saturday and Sunday at Erv Lind Stadium. There will be two doubleheaders with game slated to start at 12 p.m. PDT on both days.

DOWN THE HOME STRETCH: The Vikings sit atop the PCSC Mountain Division tied with Weber State at 8-4 in conference play. Sitting one game back in the divisional standings is Seattle at 7-5. The four games between the Vikings and Redhawks will go a long way into the playoff picture. Weber State has a four-game conference series with Utah Valley, who sits two games back at 6-6, this weekend. Portland State and Weber State will meet on the final weekend of the season for a final four-game set.
PSU-SU SERIES TIDBITS: The first game of the series on Saturday will be only the 19th all-time matchup between the two teams. The Vikings lead the series with a 16-2 all-time record and are 9-1 against the Redhawks at Erv Lind Stadium. The Vikings have won the last nine matchups with their last defeat coming by a score of 6-4 in 2010. The Vikings swept the season series last year on the road by a combined score of 29-6 including three shutouts of the Redhawks. Junior pitcher
Anna Bertrand has a 0.25 ERA with a record of 4-0 against the Redhawks including two complete games.
Jenna Krogh is a lifetime .467 hitter against Seattle (7-for-15) in five games. She has scored five times and driven in four against the Redhawks.
A QUICK LOOK AT SEATTLE: Seattle comes into play this weekend with a 7-5 conference record after taking three-of-four from Utah Valley last weekend. Their biggest win of the season came in a 19-0 annihilation of Weber State on April 6. Sarah Petosa leads the squad with a .346 batting average going 40-for-115 on the season thus far. The only other hitter with over 100 at bats this season is Bubba Morrow (102) who leads the team in RBIs (26) and home runs (4). The Redhawks have spread the ball around in the circle with three pitches throwing over 70 innings. Richelle Ashburn leads the trio of pitchers with a 3.75 ERA. As a whole, Seattle has struckout only 121 batters while allowing opponents to hit .302.
TOUGH LOSSES AT NO. 14 OREGON: The Vikings are coming of a pair of tough losses at the hand of No. 14 Oregon Wednesday afternoon. After keeping the first game close, a six-run fifth inning broke the game wide open with Oregon eventually taking the game 10-4. Freshman pitcher
Raya Johnson, who pitched a complete game in game one, threw the first four innings of game two and only allowed one run in the bottom of the first inning. Oregon shutout Portland State for the 1-0 win in the second game.
