VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Portland State women's tennis team fell to the United States Air Force Academy by a score of 7-0, Sunday morning at Club Green Meadows in Vancouver, Wash.
 
The Falcons (10-3 overall) took the early 1-0 dual advantage after sweeping the Vikings (2-10) in doubles play. Megan Govi and Marina Todd dropped their doubles match by a score of 8-0 while the other two Portland State duos fell by scores of 8-4.
 
Nayanatara Vadali, playing as the No. 6 for the Vikings, had the hardest fought match of the day. She quickly won the first set by a score of 6-0 but then dropped the second set 6-4. Her match was the last to finish and since the Falcons had already taken the dual, the third set was played as a 10-point match tiebreaker. She battled the whole way through but fell 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
 
Audrey Farr fell by scores of 6-3 and 6-3 while Marti Pellicano fell by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 playing as the Vikings' No. 1 and No. 2 singles players respectively.
 
Govi and Alexa McDonald each fell by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 while Todd fell in her first set by a score of 6-2 but then tried to force a third set but lost the second set by a score of 7-6 with a set tiebreaker loss of 7-1.
 
The Vikings now host Eastern Washington on March 9 at and Linfield on March 18. Both matches will be at Club Green Meadows and are both 9 a.m. PT starts.
