Hoshito Mizutani will be a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with Portland State in 2014-15, working with the softball program. He will also assist with the men’s and women’s cross country teams in the fall, football in the summer, as well as coverage of the athletic treatment center during the academic year.
Mizutani earned a BS from Oregon State University's College of Public Health and Human Science in Athletic Training in 2014. He earned a scholarship from the International Cultural Service Program in 2013-14 based on great academic work and excellent cultural work to the local communities.
Mizutani earned an Associate Degree from Fukuoka Resort & Sport College in Japan in Strength and Conditioning in 2008. Mizutani is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Health Studies/Public Health. He is a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the NATA, and registered as an athletic trainer in the state of Oregon.
Mizutani was an athletic training student at Oregon State, working with a variety of sports including the football team, and men’s soccer, as well as the Western Oregon Univeristy track & field, baseball, basketball, and football teams.
In Japan, Mizutani was an athletic training student at Seinan Gakuin University, working with the rugby team. He assisted rehabilitation and strength training, and provided immediate care for athletic injuries.
