BEFORE PORTLAND STATE

Played two seasons at Roane State Community College in Tennessee... as a sophomore, he averaged 22.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists... shot .536 from the field, .391 from three-point range and .815 at the line.... named third team NJCAA All-American... Roane State was 22-7 overall, 15-3 in conference play... as a freshman, he averaged 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists... shot .482/.365/.748... team was 23-9, 13-5 in conference play.

Lettered in basketball four seasons at East Paulding High School in Dallas, GA... As a senior, he averaged 25.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.8 steals and 2.1 blocks per game... also ran track and cross country
