Gifts made to the Vikings Club support all 15 PSU teams toward scholarship and operational support.
Yes, the Internal Revenue Service allows a full deduction on contributions where there is no tangible or intangible benefit to the donor. Otherwise, the deduction total is only the charitable amount of the overall gift. The charitable amount is equivalent to the overall gift amount subtracted by the value of the benefit received based on the gift. We encourage you to contact your financial advisor for detailed information or follow up with our office on specific questions.
For Portland State to remain competitive and provide our student-athletes and coaches with scholarship support, operational support, recruiting budgets, team travel expenses, and more, private support is absolutely critical.
Vikings Club members will receive a monthly newsletter that includes updates on the department, invitations to events hosted by both Athletics and Portland State University, and branded gifts to show your Viking Pride.
Yes, if you give to a sport-specific fund, you will still receive the benefits of that sport fund.
Peery’s Posse (Men’s Basketball):
$1,000+ level = Nike hat
$2,500 level = Blanket, season parking pass
$5,000+ level= Suitcase, two seats on the bench at mutally agreed upon home game
Courtside Club (Women’s Basketball):
$250 level = Nike hat
$500 level = Blanket
$1,000 level = Season parking pass, two seats on the bench at mutually agreed upon home game
Coaches Corner (Football):
$1,000+ level = Nike hat
$2,500+ level = Blanket, season parking pass, two field passes
$5,000+ level = Suitcase, club box access
All seating and parking decisions are first determined by season ticket purchases and then by additional benefits that we may offer to Vikinsg Club members (based on availability).
Yes, any gift to Portland State Athletics earns you membership into the Vikings Club. While we encourage donations to the Vikings Athletic Fund to go toward unrestricted giving, if you give to a sport-specific fund you will still receive the benefits of a Vikings Club member.
