2020 - SENIOR SEASON
Started all 24 games the Vikings played… batted .384 with 28 hits in 73 at bats… scored 19 runs, with 15 RBI, eight doubles, five triples, a home run, eight bases on balls and four stolen bases…. had a .671 slugging percentage and .464 on-base percentage… led the Big Sky Conference in runs scored and triples... led the team in hitting, hits, runs, doubles, triples, bases on balls and steals… ranked second in runs batted in… had seven multi-hit games... had 30 putouts, one assist and one error in the outfield (.969)… was 3-3 with four runs scored, two triples and a run batted in a win over Western Michigan (2/7)… went 4-4 with two doubles, a triple and five runs batted in a win against UC Santa Barbara (2/28)… the next day was 3-3 in a win over St. Peters (2/29), with a double, a triple and two runs scored… was 3-3 with two runs and two RBI and a double against Loyola Marymount (3/7)… earned Academic All-Big Sky Conference… maintains senior eligibility due to COVID-19-shortened season.
2019 - JUNIOR SEASON
Bruno played in 49 games, starting all 49 of them… Bruno hit .313 on the season and .378 in conference games. She had 45 total hits and nine doubles… She scored 21 runs and drove in 15. She had 54 total bases, a .375 slugging percentage and a .387 on-base percentage… Bruno stole seven bases in eight attempts and had four sacrifice hits… She ended the season with a .990 fielding percentage, recording 101 putouts with three assists and just one error… Went 2-for-3 with a run scored against Marist (3/2)… Opened the season going 1-for-4 with a run scored in back to back games against UC Riverside (2/8) and San Diego (2/8)… Hit safely in four of the last six games… Went 2-for-3 with a run scored, a double and a stolen base against Northern Colorado (3/29)… At the Seattle Invite II she went 3-for-6 with two runs and two doubles in games against Santa Clara… Recorded three hits against Montana (4/13) with a double and an RBI… Scored a run in all three games against Southern Utah (4/19-20) and also had one hit in every game… Went 3-for-4 with two RBIs against Oregon (4/23)… Had a perfect game at the plate against Weber State (5/4), going 3-for-3 with a run scored in a 5-2 Portland State win… Threw out the go-ahead run at home to force extra innings at the Big Sky Championship game against Sacramento State (5/8). She then scored the game-winning run in the 11th inning, advancing home on a wild pitch… In a Big Sky Championship game against Montana, she went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
2018 - SOPHOMORE SEASON
Named to the Big Sky All-Tournament Team… Played in 47 games, making 45 starts in the outfield as a sophomore… Finished second on the team with a .339 batting average… Tallied 43 hits, 27 runs scored, and 13 Runs batted in… Had an on-base percentage of .387 with a .417 slugging percentage… Had 10 multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games… Finished the season on a three-game hitting streak… Drove in two, going 2-for-4 with a run scored in a Big Sky Tournament win over Weber State (5/11)… Went 3-for-4 with a run scored in a Big Sky Tournament loss to Montana (5/10)… Went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a career-high four RBIs in the Vikings’ regular season finale at Southern Utah (5/6)… Set new career highs in both hits and runs scored, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored at Southern Utah (5/5)… Drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the eight to win 4-3 and take the series 2-1 from Weber State (4/28)… Went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a win over Weber State (4/28) after being moved to the lead off spot… Went 2-for-3 in game one against Weber State (4/27)… Tripled the would-be game-winning run at Montana (4/22)… Singled and scored the game-tying run in a 3-2 comeback win over Northern Colorado (4/14)… Drove in two and scored a run in game one against UNC (4/14)… Doubled, drove in a run, and scored twice against Bryant (3/17)… Went 2-for-2 with a run scored at UNLV (3/10)… Scored a run, going 2-for-3 with a walk against New Mexico State (3/9)… Doubled, scored a run, and drove in a run against New Mexico State (2/24)… Reached and scored twice in a win against Sam Houston State (2/9).
2017 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Played in 36 games, making 34 starts, as a true freshman… Hit .266, going 25-for-94, with 11 runs scored and six runs batted in… Recorded four doubles, and a team-high two triples. Walked five times and stole five bases… Went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at North Dakota (4/28)… Went 2-for-4 with a stolen base against Montana (4/22)… Extended hitting streak to 8 games going 2-for-4 with a triple, and two runs scored against New Mexico State (3/10)… Went 2-for-2 with a run scored, walk, and stolen base at Pacific (3/5)… Drove in three going 2-for-4 with two doubles against Seton Hall (3/4)… Hit first career triple in first career multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and first career RBI against East Carolina (3/4)… Recorded first career double, going 1-for-3 at Grand Canyon (2/24)… Recorded first career hit with first career run against Kent State (2/11).
PRIOR TO PORTLAND STATE
Played varsity softball all four years and varsity volleyball her junior year at Santa Catalina School… hit .494 (160-for-324) over four seasons. Hit over .500 for a season twice… hit .568 (42-for-77) with 26 runs scored and 28 runs batted in as a senior… All-Mission Trail Athletic League all four years… three-Time Monterey Herald All-County selection (SO, JR, SR)… three-Time MTAL Champions (FR, SO, JR)… Central Coast Section Runner-Up as a sophomore… played for the Salinas Storm from 2008-12 and for Central Coast Athletics from 2012-15.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Daughter of Vince and Deanne Bruno… has one sister, Maria… majoring in Business Administration… enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants play with her dad, and going for walks on the bike trails with family… volunteers at the Women’s Shelter in Marina, Calif. by helping get sponsors for women and their families… volunteers at Dorothy’s Kitchen in Salinas, Calif. by helping prepare meals and by greeting visitors… aspires to pure a career in Business Administration and work for the federal government.
